• Welcome to the blog of Luxe Fête Event Planning and Design Studio. My name is Nathalie Cadet-James and I am an event planner and designer. This blog is a place where you can connect with me, check out my latest projects and designs, and hopefully be inspired to create your dream wedding or event. I love designing and planning magical events. Before channeling my creative energy into this field, I was an attorney at top law firms and clerked for a Federal Judge. It did not take long to realize I’d rather be telling stories by transforming spaces and creating beautiful atmospheres. I am fortunate to be considered an "industry innovator" and “event guru” because of my unique and fresh design approach. You can find our work featured in many of today’s premier design and bridal publications. I proudly call the Magic City of Miami my home as well as my inspiration. The Miami of today offers far more than just sun and fun. Miami is truly a world class destination, rich with history, culture, food, music and philanthropy. I am honored to serve on the Executive Committee of Friends of the New World Symphony and the Overtown Music Project. Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to hear from you! And yes, we happily travel anywhere in the world. - Nat

Meet Yaniv Cohen of Shiraz Events

Excellent food really makes people happy – exactly what you’d want for your wedding guests. So as a follow up to our recent post on the excellent food created for our Alice in Wonderland Photo Shoot, I thought it would be nice to sit with Yaniv Cohen of Shiraz Events to get some insight into the world of catering and weddings.

Why is food presentation so important for weddings?

We eat with our eyes first…a dish might taste great but unless it looks great you don’t really want to try it. Everything about a wedding should be visually pleasing, food drinks décor and even staff.

What inspired you when creating the menu for the Alice in Wonderland Photo Shoot?

Inspiration comes from the story itself, the color you imagine when you think about Alice in Wonderland, the mad hatter and the fabulous tea party.

What are some of the trends you are seeing in weddings?

Weddings are becoming less formal and a more casual and fun affair for family and friends. We see a lot more family style dinners using royal tables and a lot more cocktail party themed weddings with hearty hors d’oeuvres. We are also seeing quite a few organic weddings, set in farms with a selection of organic menus.

Explain the New York and Miami connection with Shiraz Events?

As a New York City Caterer in Miami, we bring the NYC style, edge and quality of service to Miami – it’s is appreciated by many in South Florida. The synergy between the two cities is undeniable. Only 2 1/2 hours away, Miami is the playground for many New Yorkers. Its the tropical winter wonderland. Love it here.

Any advice for brides who are looking to hire a caterer for their wedding?

It is easy to spot the caterer who is truly creative and loves what they do. Find a caterer that listens to your vision, one that listens to what you bring to the table, one that is truly dedicated to the art of celebration.
