• Welcome to the blog of Luxe Fête Event Planning and Design Studio. My name is Nathalie Cadet-James and I am an event planner and designer. This blog is a place where you can connect with me, check out my latest projects and designs, and hopefully be inspired to create your dream wedding or event. I love designing and planning magical events. Before channeling my creative energy into this field, I was an attorney at top law firms and clerked for a Federal Judge. It did not take long to realize I’d rather be telling stories by transforming spaces and creating beautiful atmospheres. I am fortunate to be considered an "industry innovator" and “event guru” because of my unique and fresh design approach. You can find our work featured in many of today’s premier design and bridal publications. I proudly call the Magic City of Miami my home as well as my inspiration. The Miami of today offers far more than just sun and fun. Miami is truly a world class destination, rich with history, culture, food, music and philanthropy. I am honored to serve on the Executive Committee of Friends of the New World Symphony and the Overtown Music Project. Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to hear from you! And yes, we happily travel anywhere in the world. - Nat

Punk. Rock. Love. Finding The Perfect Photographer

Beautiful wedding photography evokes powerful emotions. I love how you can feel how “Leila” feels in the three pictures above. The images are palpable. They form the basis of stories that will be retold for generations, and just scream LOVE. When looking for someone to shoot our Punk. Rock. Love. wedding concept, we knew we had to reach out to the best, because frankly, they would make us look good. Needless to say we are thrilled with how our vision was captured by Ambrosio Photography. Craig and Stacey, a husband and wife team, were incredible to work with. In addition to being creative – they were technically on point. With imagery so rich and content so pure, it’s no wonder they are one of the best out there. Here is what I liked about them and what I think are top considerations in choosing a wedding photographer:

  1. Work with “story tellers.” A story teller is a photographer who captures the memories you will cherish for a lifetime because they have an innate sense of what matters most. Whether it be a classic portrait or a candid moment, a story teller photographer just gets it. The questions I often ask myself when perusing different portfolios is: How do I feel when I look at these pictures? How do they choose to tell the story? Would I call this person an artist?
  2. Work with photographers who are technically sound. In other words, it is not enough that the composition of a picture is nice – it also has to be technically perfect. Does the photographer work well in all types of lighting? Are the details that need to be precise in fact precise? How do they capture colors and tones?
  3. Work with a photographer you actually like. Ask yourself: Does the personality of this photographer compliment me? Nothing is worse than being around someone who brings out the nasty in you – especially when you are trying to look good in pictures. I like to work with professionals who are positive, not phased by obstacles, reliable and simply enjoy even the little details of life. Says a lot . . .and translates into beautiful pictures.

Hope this helps you in your pursuit of finding the perfect wedding photographer.
