• Welcome to the blog of Luxe Fête Event Planning and Design Studio. My name is Nathalie Cadet-James and I am an event planner and designer. This blog is a place where you can connect with me, check out my latest projects and designs, and hopefully be inspired to create your dream wedding or event. I love designing and planning magical events. Before channeling my creative energy into this field, I was an attorney at top law firms and clerked for a Federal Judge. It did not take long to realize I’d rather be telling stories by transforming spaces and creating beautiful atmospheres. I am fortunate to be considered an "industry innovator" and “event guru” because of my unique and fresh design approach. You can find our work featured in many of today’s premier design and bridal publications. I proudly call the Magic City of Miami my home as well as my inspiration. The Miami of today offers far more than just sun and fun. Miami is truly a world class destination, rich with history, culture, food, music and philanthropy. I am honored to serve on the Executive Committee of Friends of the New World Symphony and the Overtown Music Project. Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to hear from you! And yes, we happily travel anywhere in the world. - Nat

Urban Prettiness: The Urban Details

The ultimate urban locale is a loft. It’s is essentially a carte blanche. The minute I knew we were designing something with an urban flavor is the minute I knew we had to do it at The Nuage Studio. The Nuage Studio is 6,000 square feet of bare open walls, high ceilings and smoky gray elements – perfect to ground the pretty and girly elements we wanted to play with. All of this in MIAMI. Smile. While touring the space we fell in love with their tall, stark white crocodile-textured royal table and high back sofas. So lovely, I’d wear them if I could. We paired the table with Nuage’s Kartell inspired bar stools because (a) they are sleek and (b) they “lit-e-rally” (in Rachel Zoe’s cadence) allow you to absorb the open space, a feeling we definitely wanted to invoke. My favorite element on the urban side of our Urban Prettiness Shoot is the natural cracks in the concrete floor. Something haunting about them, something beautiful about them, something real. Ambrosio photography captured it beautifully.

Deirdre Dunham - Only you can manage to make a pink wedding so much more than just, well, a pink wedding! This is so modern, fresh, clean! And, perhaps most important to a groom, it isn’t too girlified – the industrial feel and white, snakeskin texture “manly it up” just the perfect amount. Way to go, Nat and company!
